Brick & MasonryBrick work, block walls & masonry in Odessa & Midland, TX

Brick veneer on metal buildings and shops, block walls, privacy and retaining walls, and masonry repairs in Odessa, Midland and the Permian Basin.

Masonry in Odessa & Midland

Brick and block work, built to last in West Texas.

Brick and masonry give a building a finished, permanent look, whether it’s the front of a metal shop, a block wall around a yard or a repair on an older building. Gorilla Builders TX does brick work and masonry in Odessa, Midland and the Permian Basin.

We take masonry-only jobs, and we also build the brick and block as part of our building projects. When the same contractor builds the pad, pours the slab and lays the brick, the foundation is built ready for the masonry that goes on it.

West Texas Ground

What we look at on a masonry job.

  • The footing. Brick and block are heavy. The wall needs a footing or a slab ledge built to carry it.
  • Soils. Expansive clay and caliche are common here, and ground movement is a big reason masonry cracks.
  • Drainage. Retaining walls and walls along a yard need water to get out from behind and under them.
  • Wind & height. Taller walls and long privacy walls may need reinforcing and an engineered design.
  • Matching what’s there. On repairs and additions, we talk through matching the brick, block and mortar you already have.
FAQ

Brick & masonry questions.

Do you do brick work in Odessa and Midland?

Yes. Gorilla Builders TX does brick work, block work and masonry in Odessa, Midland and across the Permian Basin, for commercial buildings, shops and offices. See all service areas.

Can you put brick on a metal building?

Yes. Brick veneer or a brick wainscot is a common way to dress up the front of a metal shop, office or retail building. It’s best planned with the building and the slab so the foundation has a ledge to carry the brick, but we can also look at adding brick to an existing building.

Do you only do brick work, or does it have to come with a building?

Both. Gorilla Builders TX takes masonry-only jobs, like block walls, privacy and retaining walls, brick veneer and repairs. We also do the masonry as part of a full project with the dirt work, the concrete and the metal building.

Do you build block, privacy and retaining walls?

Yes. We build concrete block (CMU) walls, privacy and screen walls, and retaining walls. Retaining walls and taller walls may need an engineered design and a footing sized for the wall, and we’ll talk through what your wall needs.

Can you repair cracked brick or block?

Yes. We repair cracked or damaged brick and block, rebuild sections and repoint mortar joints. Cracks can come from the ground moving under the wall, so we look at the cause along with the repair. A few photos sent by text are a good place to start.

How much does brick or masonry work cost?

There’s no set price. The type of brick or block, the size and height of the wall, the footing, access to the site and material pricing at the time all change the number. The fastest way to a real number is a free quote for your project.
